Flap discs combine grinding and finishing in one consumable: layered abrasive cloth flaps that remove stock while leaving a finished surface. The range centres on Pferd Polifan discs in zirconia and premium SG aluminium oxide for steel and inox, in 100mm, 115mm and 125mm, alongside Flexovit Mega Line discs, Josco felt polishing flap discs, and flap wheels, flap drums and fan grinders for shaped and internal work.
What grit flap disc for weld blending?
- 40 grit: knocking down the weld bead and heavy stock removal.
- 60 grit: the all-rounder that blends the weld and leaves a consistent finish.
- 80 to 120 grit: pre-polish and cosmetic finishing on visible work.
