Sediment bags, also called dewatering bags, filter silt and fines out of pumped water before it reaches stormwater drains or waterways. The range runs from compact 3m x 1m silt filter bags for trench and pit pump-outs up to 6m x 4m bags for high-volume dewatering on civil projects.
How does a sediment dewatering bag work?
You connect the pump discharge hose into the bag's sleeve and pump as normal. The geotextile fabric traps sediment inside while filtered water seeps out through the walls. Size the bag to your pump flow rate and expected silt load, since an undersized bag will blind over and back-pressure the pump.
