When do I need anti-seize on fasteners?

Anti-seize is the standard choice for threaded assemblies exposed to heat, corrosion or dissimilar metals: exhaust studs, stainless fasteners and any equipment that must come apart again at the next service. Metal-free compounds like Molykote P-74 suit applications where nickel or copper pastes are not wanted.
