Why run acetylene as your fuel gas?
Acetylene burns the hottest of the common fuel gases, pierces quickly, and is the fuel required for true gas welding — LPG handles cutting and heating but won't gas-weld. If the work includes fusion welding or fast, clean piercing, acetylene is the bottle to own. Empties exchange through the acetylene refill/swap service, and both are handled over the counter at WeldCo's Melbourne and Adelaide trade stores.
