Thermic Lancing

Thermic lances burn through material a conventional oxy torch can't touch. The range covers 16mm and 19mm thermal lancing rods in 2750mm and 3-metre lengths — sold as singles and 20-packs from Cigweld and the Australian Thermic Lance Company — thermic safety lance handles, a complete mini thermic lance kit for lighter work, and the consumable spares that keep a lance running: nose cones, rubber cone inserts in 6mm and 10mm, spare rubbers and brass washers, plus 12mm ID oxygen supply hose in 20-metre lengths with fittings to suit.

What is thermic lancing used for?

A thermic lance feeds oxygen through a consumable steel rod that, once ignited, burns hot enough to melt through reinforced concrete, cast iron, seized pins and shafts, and steel sections far beyond oxy-cutting thickness. It's the tool of choice for demolition, salvage and freeing seized plant. The rods and nose cones are consumables — order spares with the handle so a big job doesn't stall mid-cut.
