The spanner wall runs close to three hundred lines: Kincrome combination spanners in satin and mirror polish, single way and reverse gear (ratchet) spanners, jumbo combination sizes for plant work, Typhoon ring-open-end spanners, slogging spanners for striking, and podger ring spanners for steel erection. Metric and imperial both run deep.
It's a range built for mechanics, riggers, fitters and heavy plant workshops rather than the kitchen drawer.
What is a slogging spanner?
A short, thick spanner made to be hit — you drive it with a hammer to crack large, seized or torque-critical fasteners that a standard spanner (and your shoulder) can't shift. Never hammer an ordinary combination spanner; that's exactly what sloggers are for.
