Coveralls here split into three families. Everyday workwear: Portwest hi-vis contrast and Iona enhanced cotton coveralls. Flame resistant: Bizflame anti-static FR and Bizweld FR day/night styles for welders and hot work crews. Disposable: Pro Choice SMS and Barriertech seam-sealed coveralls, Maxisafe Chemguard Type 5/6 styles and Ansell AlphaTec options for dust, spray and chemical splash tasks.
What do Type 5/6 disposable coveralls protect against?
Type 5 covers airborne solid particulates like dusts and fibres; Type 6 covers light liquid splash and mist. A 5/6-rated coverall such as the Chemguard suits sanding, insulation, spray drift and general dirty work — but it is not a barrier suit for pressurised liquids or heavy chemical exposure, so step up to seam-sealed styles when the hazard is wet.
