Do I need safety-toe gumboots or plain waterproof ones?

If anything heavy can drop or roll — pallets, pipe, stock — you need a safety toe, and metatarsal protection if loads could land across the top of your foot. Plain gumboots like the Shova are only for wet work where impact risk genuinely is not present, such as wash-down and dairy-style cleaning.
