Hoods protect the head, neck and shoulders where a jacket collar stops. The range is anchored by Elliotts: Proban welding hoods including extra-long and gusseted versions, hi-vis orange styles, the Blue Max FR cotton hood, Big Red leather hoods, and aluminised carbon/aramid furnace hoods for extreme radiant heat. Why wear a welding hood under a helmet?

Sparks and spatter find the gap between helmet and collar, especially overhead — a hood closes that gap and stops burns to the neck, ears and scalp. It also keeps grinding dust and UV off skin during long fabrication runs. Extra-long styles tuck into the jacket so nothing bounces inside.
