Which earth clamp amperage do I need?

Match or exceed your machine's maximum output. A 150A–250A clamp covers most single-phase stick and MIG welders; 400A–600A copper-shunt clamps are the right call for three-phase machines and long duty cycles, because the shunt carries the current rather than the spring, so the clamp stays cooler and the arc stays stable.
