Why keep low-hydrogen electrodes in an electrode oven?

Low-hydrogen rods absorb moisture as soon as the packet is opened, and that moisture becomes hydrogen in the weld — a cracking risk on structural work. A holding oven keeps opened rods at temperature so they stay compliant and usable.
