Welding Cables & Leads

Welding cable and lead stock runs from CIGWELD double-insulated cable by the reel — 16mm² rated 225A, 35mm² rated 375A and 70mm² rated 590A, in 50m and 150m reels — through to Unimig Megaflex cable for easier handling. Ready-made options include 200A, 250A and 400A welding lead sets with twist-lock holders, 200A electrode leads with trigger switch, 5m earth lead assemblies with D25 and D50 fittings, Dinse pigtail adaptors and Unimig 15A heavy duty extension cables for the machine side.

What size welding cable do I need?

• 16mm² — light stick and MIG work up to around 225A on short runs.
• 35mm² — the workhorse size for most 250A–375A machines.
• 70mm² — high-amperage and long-lead work up to 590A; going up a size on long runs keeps voltage drop down.
