Silver Solder
Products
Silver solder from 2% to 56% silver content — Harris Stay-Silv bare 2% rods, 56% flux-coated cadmium-free sticks in 1.6mm, and flux-cored 2.0mm options in 5-metre and 10-metre packs. These are the staple consumables for refrigeration, air conditioning and copper pipework.
What silver content do I need for silver solder?
Low-silver alloys around 2% suit copper-to-copper joints and are effectively self-fluxing on copper. High-silver alloys in the 45–56% range melt lower, flow further into tight joints and are the pick for copper-to-brass or copper-to-steel, food-contact work and joints that see vibration. Always choose cadmium-free — modern alloys have made cadmium-bearing rods obsolete on safety grounds.
WeldCo supplies refrigeration and plumbing trades from Melbourne and Adelaide with cad-free silver solder in stick and metre packs.
