PAPR Helmets

PAPR welding helmets combine an auto-darkening lens with a powered air-purifying respirator that pushes filtered air across your face all shift. The range covers complete PAPR kits and hard-hat systems from CIGWELD, WIA and UNIMIG, plus the consumables that keep them compliant — P3 particle filters, gas filters, pre-filters, spark arrestors and grinding shields.

They're built for welders with sustained fume exposure: stainless and galvanised work, flux-cored wire, confined spaces and poorly ventilated bays.

When do I need a PAPR helmet instead of a standard welding helmet?

Move to PAPR when ventilation alone can't keep fume out of your breathing zone — long hours under the hood, stainless or coated steels, high-deposition processes, or enclosed work areas. The positive airflow keeps filtered air over your face, reduces lens fogging and beats trying to fit a disposable respirator under a helmet. If you're welding stainless, chrome-bearing or galvanised material regularly, treat powered air as standard kit rather than an upgrade.
