Skull Caps

Welding skull caps sit under your helmet headgear to protect your scalp, hair and ears from spatter, sparks and radiant heat. Made from flame-resistant fabric, they also soak up sweat before it reaches your eyes and stop the headband chafing on long shifts — a small addition that makes hours under the hood noticeably more comfortable.

Why wear a skull cap under a welding helmet?

A bare helmet headband leaves the top and back of your head exposed to spatter, and sweat running under the headgear is a constant distraction. A flame-resistant skull cap closes that gap: it shields skin and hair from burns, cushions the headgear, and washes easily at the end of the week. Worn with the peak reversed, it also covers the back of the neck during overhead work.
