Nibblers cut sheet metal by punching out small crescents rather than shearing or grinding it, leaving flat, distortion-free edges with no heat or sparks. When should I use a nibbler instead of shears or a grinder?

Reach for a nibbler for curved and detailed cuts, profiled or corrugated sheet, and any panel where edge distortion matters. Shears are quicker in long straight runs; a cutting disc is faster still but leaves a hot, burred edge that needs dressing.
