Air hoists lift with compressed air rather than an electric motor, giving smooth variable-speed control and a drive that can't spark or burn out under stalling loads. That makes them the pick for spray booths, wash bays, foundries and other environments where electric hoists struggle.

Why use an air hoist instead of an electric hoist?

Three reasons: duty cycle, environment and control. Air hoists tolerate continuous starting and inching without overheating, they suit damp or flammable atmospheres because there are no windings or brushes, and feathering the air valve gives fine load control that contactor-switched electric hoists can't match.
