Air Needle Scalers

Air needle scalers strip weld slag, mill scale, rust and old coatings by hammering a bundle of hardened 3mm needles against the surface — fast on irregular shapes where a grinder can't follow. Stock covers straight-style scalers at 5500 BPM with 32mm stroke, pistol-grip models at 3700 BPM with 33mm stroke and a 24mm-stroke unit, plus replacement needle sets in 123mm and 180mm lengths.

What is a needle scaler best at?

Cleaning profiles a grinder can't: weld toes, corners, bolted joints, checker plate and pitted castings. The needles conform to the surface, so you remove scale and paint without gouging the parent metal — ideal prep before inspection or recoating.
