Die Nuts

Die nuts for external thread repair — Sutton and ALPHA carbon steel and chrome die nuts in metric sizes from M5 through to M24.

Products

Die nuts chase damaged external threads back to serviceable condition. The range includes Sutton carbon steel die nuts in sizes like M16 x 2 and M24 x 3, and ALPHA carbon and chrome carded die nuts covering common metric coarse sizes from M5 upward.

How do I use a die nut without making the thread worse?

Start it from the undamaged end of the thread if you can, keep it square, and drive it with a ring spanner or socket in steady turns with a drop of oil — the die nut re-forms bruised crests as it follows the existing thread line.
