Carbide
Carbide drills for hard and abrasive materials — Sutton solid carbide bits including D304 and 3xD D323 AlCrN-coated drills.
Products
Solid carbide drills hold their edge where HSS gives up. The range covers Sutton D304 series bits in sizes from 5mm to 10mm and D323 3xD drills to DIN6537, including AlCrN-coated options for hard, abrasive and high-production drilling.
When does solid carbide beat HSS or cobalt?
Choose carbide for hardened steels, cast iron and long production runs at high cutting speeds — ideally in a rigid setup like a drill press or machining centre. In a hand drill, flex can chip the brittle carbide edge, so keep these for supported, controlled drilling.
Available through WeldCo's Tradestore, serving trades in Melbourne and Adelaide.
