Long series drill bits give you extra flute length for deep holes, stacked sections and awkward reach jobs a jobber bit can't touch. The range covers Sutton D110 HSS bits and gold-series long drills in metric sizes from 2mm through to 11.5mm and beyond.
When should I use a long series drill instead of a jobber?
Reach for long series when the hole depth exceeds roughly three times what a jobber bit's flutes can clear, or when you're drilling through box section, cavities or behind obstructions. Peck-drill and clear swarf often — long bits flex more, so let the bit do the work at lower feed pressure.
