Two flute or four flute — which endmill do I use?
Two flute slot drills are centre-cutting with room for chips, so they plunge and cut full-width slots cleanly. Four flute endmills carry more cutting edges for better finish and tool life on profiling and side milling, but clog in deep slots. Run two flute for slotting, four flute for finishing passes.
