Stick welding electrodes for MMAW — the process that still rules repairs, site work and windy yards. The range runs from general purpose E6013s such as UNIMIG Hyperarc 6013, WIA Austarc 12P and PROWELD 4112, through cellulose E7010 pipe electrodes, to 55% and 99% nickel electrodes for cast iron. The sub-categories below split the range by type: mild steel, low hydrogen, stainless, iron powder, hardfacing and cast iron.
What do electrode numbers like 6013 and 7018 mean?
In the AWS system the first two digits give minimum tensile strength in ksi (60 or 70), the third digit the welding positions, and the last the flux type and current. So an E6013 is a 60ksi all-positional rutile electrode — easy striking and general purpose — while an E7018 is a 70ksi low hydrogen electrode for structural and high-restraint joints.
